Event #3 at the 2011 Falls Fest Highlander is the Max Deadlift.
This one is simple: 3 attempts with standard bar and plates. If you miss, you cannot take a lighter attempt. Belt, chalk, straps, and hitching is permitted. No DL suits.

So it’s a “deadlift” in the commonly-observed gym/training sense, but not the in the powerlifting sense. Or to put it another way, it’s a “pull anyhow”, not a real-actual deadlift.
