Mountains

When I arrived in Wichita Falls, I kept hearing about the beauty of the Wichita Mountains (which I assumed was right outside town.) See, when I arrived and both times I had driven by them previously, it had been dark and I missed them. I finally made a trek there (they’re actually in Oklahoma just north of Lawton, about an hour’s drive from The Falls) in the fall and loved the ‘just strenuous enough’ hiking available, the peaceful feel of the place, and of course the Bison.

We made what will probably be our last visit there today (at least for a while) and couldn’t have had a better day. 70 degrees on the ground, low 60’s up on top of Mount Scott and no snakes in sight.

We finished the day at Meers for a famous Meers burger. We almost bailed after seeing the line but we decided to tough it out and it was very much worth it (I HIGHLY recommend the homemade ice cream but be warned, they’ll bring enough for eight.)

Remember, ALL of this is part of the program when you train at the Starting Strength in Texas house. You’ll love it. I’ll be jelly. Enjoy!
