2012 has had much more reasonable heat and much more reasonable rain than last year’s 4 months of Hell (>100F, and 0.04 inches of rain over 4 months). Even so, we’re heading into summer this week while still in moderate-severe drought conditions in Wichita County. Lake levels are low and water use is restricted under stage 2 guidelines as combined lake reserves are less than 50%.
WFAC will continue as a conservation leader, maintaining the water use policy we’ve had in place for more than a year — “If it’s brown, flush it down. If it’s yellow, let it mellow.” And no, we’re not putting in a waterpark any time soon.
